These rail yards are designed for RC/PF train layouts. They are designed to ensure that tracks are parallel and line up with the LEGO® grid.
space between parallel tracks is exactly 8 studs
tracks all stop at the same position
rail yard can be on the left- or right-hand side of the main track
buffer tracks can be used at the end of each track
rail yard can be one- or bi-directional
rail yards can have as many parallel tracks as you would like, they will always line up with the LEGO® grid
All our switches have a spring mechanism so trains can pass even if the switch is not in the 'correct' postion.
They have a LEGO® style ground throw so they will blend in seamlesly with your other switches.
The switches are also fully compatible with our track switch motors,
so this rail yard can easily be fully motorized.
The rail yard system is designed to be fully compatible with the LEGO® grid.
We have 3, 4 and 5 track ladder sets with all the specialty parts you need to build your rail yard.
There is however no limit on the number of parallel tracks or lines; you can also custom buy all parts individually
and the rail yard will always line up with the grid if you follow the guidelines below:
use a standard split track to split from the main line, use 4DBrix™ track #18 or #19 for a right turn ladder and #21 or #22 for a left turn ladder. Here you can choose to put the ground throw in the inside or outside.
add a corresponding right or left standard divergent track (#20 or #23).
to build each line, use a standard split track with the opposite turn - left turn #22 if you have a right turn rail yard and right turn #19 for a left turn rail yard. Those switches need to have the ground throw on the outside, there is simply not enough space to put the ground throw on the inside.
add a corresponding right or left rail yard divergent track (#27
use rail yard adapaters (#29)
to tune the length of parallel tracks. The first line doesn't need any, the second line needs 1, the third line needs 2,
the fourth line doesn't need any, the fifth line needs 1, etc.
the last line also requires a parallel track adapter (#25)
and a standard LEGO® R40 curved track.
in case of a one-directional rail yard you can add bumper tracks (#3).
complete your rail yard at the desired length with standard LEGO® 16 stud straight tracks.
Dark Bluish Gray; our train tracks are made in the same gray as the RC/PF train track.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions concerning our train tracks.
The rail yards are available as 4DBrix™ set 214, 215 and 216. All sets provide one-directional rail yards. Bidirectional rail yards can be built by combining a left- and right-turn set.
