The monorail system was introduced in 1987 and discontinued in 1994. Each monorail train is built on two identical chassis parts with the motor unit in between. The monorail trains run on special 4 stud wide one lane rails. Each rail has vertical teeth running down the middle, the train is propelled by a small gear that runs on these teeth. The trains are controlled by a dial switch on a special rail with the possibility to start/stop or change direction.

The 4DBrix™ Monorail
The monorail is one of the most amazing train systems ever made and we felt it is was time to bring it back, so we did! Our monorail tracks are fully compatible with the original monorail system. They are also made in classic gray, so they blend in seamlessly with your other monorail tracks.
